On March 8, 2017, 41 girls were killed in a fire at the state-run centre for children and youth Hogar Seguro Virgen de la Asunción in Guatemala. In addition, 15 survivors were also left severely injured. Almost 2 years later, there is still no justice for this state crime.
Mayra Jimenez with Ocho Tijax, a collective supporting the girl victims and survivors of the Hogar Seguro fire, will speak in Fredericton on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 1:00pm at the University Women’s Centre, Room 129 at the UNB Student Union Building.
