The Hayes Urban Teaching Farm is located within the City of Fredericton. Since the 1800s, five generations of the Hayes family worked this 550-acre farm in Devon, on the city’s north side. Recently the remaining barns and seven acres of land were provided to the New Brunswick Community Harvest Gardens to operate an urban teaching farm and grow a new generation of farmers.

The Hayes Urban Teaching Farm was the 2018 recipient of the Open Your Eyes Fredericton DOCTalks Award, which allowed for the production of the short film, Growing Farmers. The film was made by Gary Weekes and produced by Lloyd Salomone. The film is a tribute to their efforts and accomplishments.
