supportpostalworkers2This episode of From the Margins features an interview with Mike Palecek, national president of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW).

From the Margins spoke to Palecek about ongoing consultations, conducted by a federal government Task Force, on the future of Canada Post. One of these consultations, which are invite-only, took place in Bathurst, New Brunswick on October 6, 2016. The consultations are based on a discussion paper produced by the Task Force. Upon completion of the consultations, the Task Force will make recommendations to the federal government about the future of Canada Post.

Palecek spoke about concerns that  CUPW has with the consultations as well as innovative proposals that CUPW has for expanding postal services in the future.
